A piece of cultural heritage is relocated
The Burghauptmannschaft Österreich in Innsbruck received a mural by Raphael Thaler from 1912 as a gift and will now preserve it for future generations.
The painting, which is over 100 years old, shows Ferdinand II and Philippine Welser hunting.
With the support of the Province of Tyrol, the City of Innsbruck and the Provincial Memorial Foundation, the painting will be preserved and re-installed in the Lower Castle of Ambras.
We are pleased to be able to save this Austrian cultural asset from destruction and at the same time make it accessible to a broad public.
